As spring was knocking on the door, Philomuseia got to design a walking tour of maps found throughout Carleton College campus. Taking on the role of a tour curator, I reflect on my liberties and difficulties in producing and communicating knowledge of maps at Carleton.
For me, seeing an exhibition is like conducting a dialogue with it: What do you want to tell me about world history? What sort of judgements did you make when designing every object? What are your assimptions behind conclusions? How am I supposed to reflect on my visiting experience?
